Pepsi and Macy's South Black History Month celebration showcases the African-American influence in the fashion industry with the blogosphere. ListenShare partnered with Cohn, Overstreet & Parrish, a multi-channel marketing and communications firm, to develop a social media presence for the first Fashion Icons Fashion Show held in Atlanta. Leading African-American designers including Master Tailor Gentleman Jim McFarland, menswear designer Shaka King, bridal designer Therez Fleetwood, and shoe designer to the stars Etu Evans showcased their latest designs at this unique event.
ListenShare gathered and managed a collection of the fashion bloggers to cover the event. At the event bloggers interviewed the featured designers and posted experiences from the event on their blogs. Additionally, ListenShare provided e-marketing support and created a MySpace page to promote the event. Due to the positive feedback and success of the event, Macy's is expanding the Fashion Icons Fashion Show event and social media strategy in five major cities throughout the United States this year.
