The iPod Tours were developed for the GreenBuild International Expo 2005, where professionals from all areas of the green building industry meet in Atlanta for educational programs, workshops & exhibitions. Within this yearly expo, attendees are given the opportunity to tour, with a tour guide, the “green” buildings within the Atlanta area. If by chance an attendee is not able to tour at the designated tour times, an attendee misses the opportunity to participate. In an attempt to accommodate attendees not able to make the designated tour times, or attendees that prefer a self-guided tour, the iPod Tour was created.
The iPod Audio Tours, sponsored by Bentley Prince Street, provide an exceptional experience by allowing users to self-navigate through 2 major LEED accredited projects: The Interface Inc. Showroom, and Atlantic Station. These audio-guided tours strategically combine audio and text to accurately and efficiently direct users through the ins and outs of each location. The tour guides are LEED experts, with significant involvement in the 2 projects. They provide plenty of background information, and useful knowledge that users can listen to at their own pace.
The iPod Tour of the Interface Inc. Showroom allows users the unique experience of choosing their own tour based on specific areas of interest: Interior Design, Lighting and/or LEED. Andrew Beldecos, of Beldecos Lighting, is the primary lighting engineers for the Interface Inc. showroom. Andrew speaks to users on the elaborate strategy and LEED value behind the Interface Inc. showroom lighting. Holley Henderson, formerly of TVS Interior Design and currently of H2 Ecodesign, is a LEED accredited professional. She takes users through the dynamic approach behind the design implementation and the LEED scoring model of the Interface Inc. Showroom
The iPod tour of Atlantic Station takes users through their comprehensive approach towards creating a sustainable community that addresses land, air & water quality. Brian Leary, Vice President of Design and Development for this amazing city within a city, is the Atlantic Station tour-guide. He takes users through an exclusive voyage of the entire property. Starting from birth, users have the opportunity to hear mind-blowing details as to how Atlantic Station manifested over time.
